Senior Unity Developer / Product Readiness Manager

Role Overview:

We’re seeking a skilled and proficient Unity Developer with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Unity development. The ideal candidate will take the lead in building interactions, applying large language models to digital humans, and seamlessly integrating character animations. As a pivotal team member, you will supervise and manage the entire development cycle, ensuring product readiness and handling the release process to the VR marketplace, notably the Meta Quest store.

Responsibilities:

• Spearhead Unity development for immersive XR/VR/AR experiences.
• Refine gameplay above and beyond expectations to execution excellence.
• Create and manage interactions, implementing advanced features for digital humans.
• Seamlessly integrate character animations into the Unity environment.
• Oversee the entire development cycle, ensuring product readiness for release.
• Accountable for releases to VR marketplaces, particularly the Meta Quest store. Ensure the product meets all necessary criteria and quality standards before it’s launched or made available to the market. This will involve a comprehensive assessment of various aspects such as functionality, performance, user experience, stability, compatibility with target platforms, and adherence to design specifications.
• Anticipate, identify and articulate technical and developmental risks and obstacles, and generate solutions
• Participate in all project phases, from concept to maintenance
• Ensure timely and high-quality modular software development
• Independently implement complex components of interactive applications
• Proficiency in Android and PC platform development
• Setup and management of cloud-based build machine directly linked to repository changes. Setting up and overseeing a cloud-based build machine compiling, building, and testing every repository change to the Unity project 
• Excellent communication and critical thinking skills; ability to identify and solve key problems creatively with minimal guidance
• Experience creating game systems, mechanics, features, and content designed to appeal to a casual audience
• Prior experience with App Lab preferred.
• Collaboration with diverse teams of designers and developers across different time zones.
• Familiarity with AWS, Google Cloud Services, and Microsoft Azure.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of Unity development experience.
• Thorough understanding of Unity architecture and preferred workflows
• Ability to write clear, maintainable, and optimized code
• Demonstrated extensive proficiency in and knowledge of object-oriented programming in C#
• Source control and code review processes
• Experience with agile frameworks such as Kanban and Scrum
• Experience with GPU / CPU profiling, optimization techniques and approaches for developing performant tethered and mobile XR applications
• Expertise in building interactions and integrating character animations.
• Strong familiarity with Android and PC platforms.
• Experience managing cloud-based build processes linked to repository changes.
• Prior exposure to App Lab is advantageous.
• Proficiency in collaborating with global teams across different time zones.
• Knowledge of AWS, Google Cloud Services, and Microsoft Azure.
